About My Practice

Creating Hope.
Creating Change.
Creating Connection.

I am passionate and skilled in guiding individuals and couples toward psychological health and well-being. With nearly 30 years of clinical experience, I have worked side by side with many who have faced a variety of life issues. These issues often involve the pain of loss, the struggle to maintain balance, and the need for loving connection. Combining empathy with insight and interaction, I am someone who can help you make sense of your issues and work toward resolving them. I educate you about specific treatment strategies so you can participate as an invested partner in your own care, thus creating a sense of renewed confidence and self-direction.

Providing therapy is more than a profession. To me it is a calling. And an art. I consider the time spent with my clients as sacred and listen to each "story" with intentional openness, deep respect, and unwavering acceptance. I believe the mind, spirit, and body are intimately connected and all must be taken seriously to move toward healing and wholeness. In my education and training, I focused on the integration of psychological sciences and spirituality, and am able to blend both in my practice should you want or need this.

Because all of us seek loving connection, I am dedicated to helping people change their relationships and create stronger, healthier marriages. Using principles based on my training from Imago Relationship Therapy and the Gottman Institute, I help couples find themselves and each other. I believe the journey to real love requires commitment, understanding the dynamics and stages of relationships, and learning new ways of communicating and relating.

I am also passionate about caring for the caregiver. Being certified in gerontology, I provide support, not only for the aged, but also for the special people caring for them. Caregivers often experience a sense of isolation, exhaustion, and despair. If you are a caregiver, including mothers caring for young children, I will assist you in developing a self-care plan that is practical, resourceful, and sustaining.

I realize choosing a therapist may be a daunting task. While it is important to choose an experienced and competent clinician to be your therapist, you still have to find someone you feel comfortable with in terms of philosophy, methods, personality, and approach. If you think that I would be a good therapist for you, feel free to call me to set up a free 15-minute consultation.

Please let me know how I can serve you. It would indeed be a joy.
